The imagery in this mural was based on several MN Historical Society photographs of Powderhorn Park, including its old speedskating rink.
This was a huge project, and the mural would not have been possible without donations of time, materials and assistance from a wide range of sources.
Thanks to Clean City Minneapolis for the grant that supported the project.
Thanks to my tireless and cheerful interns Danny Levar and Nicholas Songco, whose work sped up a lot of the manual labor involved, and whose company probably helped keep me sane.
Thanks, too, to a wide range of volunteers who came and helped out: Jonathan Ellig, Amy Mueller, Carissa Nelson, Anglia Nelson, Samantha O'Brion, Kirsten Peterson, Alex Ross, Jon Skuldt, Mike Tincher, Morgan Tsan, Arella Vargas, James Von Sien, Josie Warren, Morgan Zehner, Raina Wirta
Seward Coop, Lunds, Pizza Luce, Jakeenos Pizza and Pasta
Thanks, too, to Ted Spear and Acme Awning for their enthusiasm and support (and new awning!)
Lastly, a special thanks to Jenny Jenkins, whose work as project coordinator went above and beyond expectations. He expertise at securing donations and organizing the project made the whole thing possible, as did her work with Morgan Zehner in crafting the project proposal.
